Just thought I'd mention this is probably of the most horrible design ever

The upgrading function from GP 9 to GP 10 couldn't be worse
The databases are incompatible and you have to run a great number of manual queries just to update the database so that the software can be upgraded aside from the requirements of a new SQL server with is a pain to run anyways.  After you export the database and import the new one 9 out of 10 times the database will not copy the security settings properly at which point you need to run a very very long sql script I had to find deep inside the msdn forums.

After all this your valid GP 9.0 key will not work on GP 10 so you have to login to the demo DB and enter all new keys.....

My Point is shouldn't ALL of this be included inside of the GP 10 installer so you don't have to do it all manuall or hire someone like me to go ahead and do it all for you? I mean you would expect this kind of shotty programming from microshaft but it is still a surprise to say the least....

if you need the info on how to do this ask me otherwise I'll be posting this info under the Knowledge Base at a later date....just thought I'd complain about it first.  For the record when I did this it took me 10 hours due to the size of database and when it's all said and done I would say stick to GP 9 and save yourself the trouble if you MUST have GP10 then I'd recommend waiting on my tutorial
