Currently playing around with a modified source of 1.1.27. The current list of games I could get working is
Hawx
Ghost Recon Advanced warfighter 2
Fallout 3
Eve Online
Assassin's Creed

Follow the same steps as any other wine installations
Code
./configure --prefix=/usr
make depend && make
sudo make install

You have to love the google community (providers of winedep and winetricks)
Only run winedep if your running 64bit linux as it installs 32bit compat libs
Code
sudo sh winedep.sh
install directx9 after you install wine
Code
sh winetricks directx9
As Usual Feel Free to post any question and comments here

The patched source I'm working on is here.  It Will be updated periodically.  Some bash scripts still need to be uploaded.  They will alter wine configuration on load of games and reset back to normal on exit. This will make certain games will run more smoothly and the altered settings will not break other games.
